Diane Fischer, Food Service Secretary
Bloomington Public Schools #271, MN
“I have been with Bloomington Schools for 33 years, most of them in Food Service. Our district has been with PCS since 1989. We started with the original stop and go light card readers, moved to POS-5’s and eventually went to the Breeze touch screens. We use TrakNOW for inventory and have Netcash machines to accept prepayments in all of our secondary sites. I have thoroughly enjoyed my years with Bloomington Schools and its partnership with PCS.”

We hope that everyone has enjoyed their holidays and started the New Year with renewed energy. The pre and post holiday season is the busiest we have seen in a number of years. There are so many challenges facing our industry at this time and we are working hard to provide new and improved technology solutions as quickly as we can.
On that note, we want to remind all of our customers of that we are continuing to improve our technology on all existing systems. This year you will see significant upgrades to RIGHTrak, TrakNOW and PayPAMS. Our fully cloud/web based POS offering, which has been available since July, now has a number of successful installations. Whether new or improved technology is on your agenda, please contact your Account Representative to set up a meeting with one of our Product Specialists to see options that make the right fit for your district’s IT environment.

October and November were busy months for PCS. There were four annual conferences and an industry seminar where PCS was represented.
On October 29th, Dave Smith, PCS Document Manager, attended the 62nd Annual Conference of the SNA of Massachusetts at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA. The attending members of the SNA of MA were able to visit with nearly 160 exhibitors displaying everything from food and kitchen equipment to School Food Service Management Software and Point of Sale Hardware. Dave had the opportunity to visit with quite a few of our current customers, and the consensus seemed to be one of high satisfaction with the performance of PCS systems and especially the PCS Support Team. Everyone he talked to had a successful year start up and was looking forward to the rest of the school year.
Regional Sales Director, Becki Rogers, had a great time meeting people in Myrtle Beach, SC, at the SNA of SC 60th Annual Conference in mid-October. Ginger Weekly, from Beaufort County School District, joined Becki in our booth and was a great help. As a customer, Ginger lent her unique perspective regarding PayPAMS support for other school functions in addition to meal payments.
Also in October, Regional Sales Director, Denise Lessard, and General Manager, David Yaniv, received a warm welcome at the Florida SNA Industry Seminar, Commodity & Equipment Expo. The seminar was small and intimate, allowing Denise to meet with each person who visited our booth. A raffle was conducted and Sylvia Reinhart of Collier County was the winner. Congratulations Sylvia!
Sr. Support Technician, Bhaumik Thaker, scored a home run at the NYSNA 62nd Annual Conference, held the first week in November in Rochester, NY. Everyone loved the PCS baseball giveaways that went with the conference theme.
Regional Sales Director, David Dittlinger, and TrakNOW Sr. Implementation Specialist, Judi Dugan, helped customers and attendees alike Gear up for Change at CSNA 61st Annual Conference. Sunny California weather and a great turnout made for a successful show.

One of the most important things you do every day is to backup your files. RIGHTrak and FASTrak include many options for backing up data files. Look in the Maintenance Menu and you’ll see choices such as: Quick Full Backup to Hard Disk, Diskette/Removable Media Full Backup, Diskette/Removable Media Custom Backup, Special Backup, and Full Archive Backup to Any Drive.
The Day End Procedure in FASTrak automatically performs a Quick Backup to Hard Disk, and backup to removable media. We recommend that you use a flash drive as your removable media. And don’t forget to keep your flash drive in a separate and safe place, apart from your computer.
Check in with your IT department for any additional recommendations they may have, based on the District’s data backup policies, so that you can quickly recover from a data disaster.
