Advice from Support

Due to the well-planned webinars, documentation, and videos this year, we’ve had a 40% decrease of support calls compared to this time last year regarding Verification. Now that year start is over and verification is well on its way, we are busy testing the new versions of RIGHTrak and FASTrak.

Some of the features include:

  • An enhancement to the Sales and Meal Counts Report to show meal counts without decimals.
  • An enhancement to the Register Report with the ability to query by cashier.
  • Enhancements to the Event Log in FASTrak to query by cashier and/or transaction amount.
  • The most anticipated item of the year: Mobility as a service in RIGHTrak rather than as a separate agent (program). This eliminates problems that result from rebooting servers.

Juan M - TechJuan Morales

Support Technician

Juan Morales, took more support calls than anyone else during this year’s school start, so needless to say, he is a hard worker and very dedicated technician. His background in hardware and software makes him a big asset for the support team. He is a Tech of many hats, supporting the RIGHTrak, FASTrak, and NetPOS, as well as the new cloud based SDMS and QSP4 systems. Plus, Juan handles the PayPAMS escalation tickets.

“Juan is so nice and pleasant to talk to. He is very friendly, I even got a little giggle out of him. I really am computer challenged, so talking to him gives me confidence.”

Buying Group, Uncategorized

Formerly known as TIPS/TAPS, TIPS is “a purchasing cooperative serving public and private school districts, colleges, universities, federal, state, county and city municipalities”

TIPS is an interlocal cooperative purchasing system that provides schools with the legally required competition for contracts on commonly purchased items while saving the cost of going through a competitive RFP process.

Schools (or other government entities) can purchase from Vendors with approved bids and bypass the RFP process altogether. This means that school Districts in TIPS/TAPS states DO NOT need to do an RFP; they can simply purchase directly from an approved bid

You can purchase PCS products and services through TIPS if you are located in any of the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Washington DC, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri,Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

A frequent issue this year-start involves new versions and/or updates of antivirus software that are blocking the communications ports between FASTrak and Alanas / NetPOS touch screens. This creates a “PC Time-Out” error message. If you run into this situation, please make sure that your IT department excludes the following ports from the antivirus software: Ports 5600, 200, 204, 203, 6600, and 6601.
